This is hog weed, It is on our club property it is extremely poisonous, phototropic, will cause burns that could last thee years or longer and can cause blindness The sap of giant hogweed causes blindness in humans, resulting in blisters, long-lasting scars,and-if it comes in contact with eyes-blindness. These serious reactions are due to the furocoumarin derivatives in the leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds of the plant.
It is imperative that you have this information as we are able to use the streams after June 15th. The plants on the property have been dealt with, but more may start growing and if you come across one, please notify Mike Ryan.
